As central as you can get!
This hotel is right on Deribasovskaya, the main street downtown. You can't get more central than that. Everything is within walking distance. It can be a bit noisy in the evenings, but if you close the window and turn on the A/C, it's surprisingly quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bathroom felt a bit cramped, but not so bad. The hotel begins on the 3rd floor, and there's no lift. If you arrive after hours, you need to ring the bell and wait for someone to come downstairs and let you in. After check-in, you get a key to let yourself in anytime. There's a small fridge and minibar with a few items I never used. There was no chair in my room, but they gave me one when I asked. The wifi isn't the fastest, but it works well enough. It's a fairly new hotel, and they were still doing some minor remodeling. The price was great!

We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and we highly recommend it. It is located in an excellent location on the main street where all of the restaurants, bars, and liveliness is located. Our room was very clean and in excellent condition. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The air conditioner kept our room very cool in the summer, as low as 59 degrees in the summer. The water pressure in the shower is excellent and the hot water never runs out. During our time here there was construction work being done at this hotel but it did not affect our stay. We would happily stay here again on a return trip.

As a frequent traveler to Odessa since 2008, I am very familiar with the positives and negatives associated with apartment renting and hotel stays in this city. I can honestly say that Hotel Deribas was a very pleasant and comforting experience. I stayed here 4 weeks during the New Years and holiday season (cold!), and was always comfortable and relaxed staying at this hotel. Good security system for entry at night, 24-hour front desk, good housekeeping, good water pressure and always hot water... all of these might sound like simple basics, but in Ukraine, these can be unreliable and disappointing at far too many locations. And speaking of location, across the street from City Garden on Deribasovskaya--it doesn't get much better! And price was very fair for the "Deluxe" business room. My only suggestion is to provide a microwave oven in the wet bar area. I will definitely stay here again.
