Comfortable Lodgings
A great place - we didn’t eat there but it had a friendly bar with an open fire good beers and service land a very cute comfortable room across the courtyard.

Pub rooms were good, including shower and facilities. Free car parking useful in a town were the hills are too steep for walking into town centre.

Matlock overnight
The room was clean and warm with a bath and endless hot water. The food in the restaurant is fairly priced and arrived quickly. Only one vegan starter. No other vegan options. Very close to shops and restaurants.

Wouldn’t stay again tbh…
The room was ok. Nothing to write home about, bathroom adequate although the tiles were loose. Breakfast for which we paid on check in; well it was £10 each so not expensive but no options. No cereal although there were some boxes but no dishes or milk. No options on what we wanted. We’d booked it fo 8:30 am on a Sunday morning so not late. The server really couldn’t be bothered and wanted us gone. Didn’t ask if we wanted more coffee/tea. On the whole, I wished we’d have gone elsewhere for breakfast where someone wanted our money.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Excellent service, excellent evening meal. Breakfast-would like a choice, more continental that full English.

The restaurant in the pub and staff were very good. The outside area around the pub and rooms needs tiding up and the room needs some TLC as well as a good clean, cobwebs in corners, tv taking off wall and bracket which was left there covered in dirt and dust, just need some TLC

Lovely place nice courtyard comfy room & bed. Could do with a good cobweb & a bit of maintenance to make it more homely, however I would recommend

Lovely stay would have liked to stay longer
Excellent the room was outside in the grounds of the hotel. There were a few steps up to our room but not a problem. Very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was really good and good value.

Would use again
Good welcome, room was lovely and warm and bedding clean and plenty of pillows and spotlessly clean towels. Nice touch of biscuits and chocolate. Great location and good price. Sadly there were signs of mould around the door and bathroom tiling could do with a more intense cleaning of the grout as orange/yellow build up, plus I shared the bathroom with two very large spiders that were well established as had webs in corners. Having said this, I would use the Wellington again as really convenient for me and the upsides well outweighed the downsides which could be easily rectified
