We arrived to find staff clearing up after a large family luncheon party. No-one seemed to be expecting us, and it took a while to find anyone who could book us in. We were asked to pay immediately for our room.
Once the staff were located, everything was all smiles. Language difficulties were overcome, and we were shown to our spotless room on the first floor. The room was immaculate, with air-conditioning, which was a godsend as it was a humid 33 degree heat-wave when we arrived. Dinner was available at the hotel's own pizzeria (no alternative if you hate, or can't eat, pizza!). Breakfast was proposed at Angel's Bar across the road - the basic message is the hotel offers Room Only, but we'll do breakfast at a push, but sort yourselves out if you don't like what's on offer. In a one-horse town, this does not represent much of a choice.
Despite all this, the hotel has a certain charm and we would probably stay again.
