Staying at the champers was nothing like what it used to be.. the champers used to be where people would stay for holidays and for work, but now, I have nothing against it, but it's all homeless people and family's.. I get everyone needs somewhere to say and I definitely don't want family's living in cars, but, as a privately paying customer, I think the motels have gotten used to getting top dollar for every room with no effort because of our homeless crisis so the effort has gone. these customers are so grateful for just a roof over their heads and have little other choice.. I don't know what motels are going to do once the housing crisis is over because customers will go back to having a choice.. In summary, you get what you pay for and we just needed one night but it wasn't exactly clean and we didn't exactly feel super welcome.. but I get it. I was very, very grateful that the error I made with the booking date was able to be fixed up but that was a hotels.com thing, not a champers motel thing.. motels used to be so nice with other holiday makers etc and is why I did prefer motels to hotels but I think it'll be the last motel I stay at for a while
