It wasn't the easiest place to locate, but if you follow Sanduo 4th Road west from the Sanduo station, it's behind the movie theatres, which in turn is behind the Sky Tower hotel. The hotel is well managed with friendly staff who speak enough English, and has a nice relaxing lobby which doubles as the breakfast area in the morning. 'Breakfast' is a fairly sparse Asian-Western fusion (not buffet), but the drinks are decent. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find a 'Western standard' king size bed in our room, when we were used to much smaller all over Asia; the rooms are generously sized, and the atmosphere is quite pleasant with the open concept bathroom. The bed is actually quite comfortable as well, and a billowy down duvet is provided. Cleanliness is okay, though the less-accessed areas are a little behind (such as the visible area in the gap under the tub, carpeting in some areas); while the renovations make for a fairly modern atmosphere, it's evident the carpet has seen high wear and looks a bit shabby. Still, the room is refreshed to its original state each day while we're out and about. With the station about half a km away, you get a decent walk, but there are some interesting restaurants in the neighborhood. One night market is located near the Sanduo station, while at least 2 or 3 others are easily accessible by subway at nearby stations. Sanduo station can be reached directly by subway from the airport, or from the Kaohsiung train station to the north.
