Pleasant Stay
The staff were very nice and we enjoyed our room and the grounds. The guests would greatly benefit from better signage at the turn-off on the road as well as along the long drive to the Quinta. Dinner was nice and the breakfast was more than sufficient.

A beautiful quinta which had everything we needed!
A fantastic stay at a beautiful property with amazing views and surroundings - and dog friendly ! We had the best time including our Labrador who loved exploring the vineyards ! Shame we couldn’t use the pool as it wasn’t very suitable due to the weather, but nevertheless, it was a great experience ! Topping it off with great hospitality throughout !

If you’re looking for a place to escape the crowds of Porto and enjoy the beautiful vineyards, then this is your spot. Spacious rooms, small, but nice bar area and rooftop pool. Their wines are great, and food was very good for dinner (especially the octopus). Breakfast buffet was good, plus they made eggs to order along with fantastic bacon.

Difficult to reach
Whilst the photos look amazing it's starting to look a bit neglected. The pillows were terrible and the views were disappointing with high powered electric power lines running every which way. Next time I'd stay closer down to the river. The pool and rooftop was a good spot to sit in the late afternoon but the pool was too cold to get into. From the hotel pictures I thought we'd have views down the valley & catch a glimpse of the Douro so was quite disappointed. Staff weren't particularly friendly at all either.

The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is in a picturesque area with fabulous views. Quite tricky to find - use satnav. Rooms are rather small. The food in the restaurant was very good especially the dessert. Not suitable if you have limited mobility . Nice wine at a good price Good place to stay if you want to see and experience the Duro valley

We loved every minute of our stay at the Quinta do Casaldronho! The attention to detail from every member of the team makes this a special place to visit. An amazing place to stay. It’s out of the way but well worth it. Spectacular views, great rooms, nice pool, and nice staff. Breakfast was also good. Dinner available at the hotel rather than driving into town.

The building is beautiful and it’s set in the most stunning surroundings. You can really relax here. It is out of town but taxis are easy if you don’t have a car and you get the incredible views. Also thought the breakfast was the best and loved our dinners in the restaurant.

The hotel is a very good base to explore the Alto Douro region. Is close to Lamego, Régua and to other wineries. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive and helpful. We stay for 2 nights and it was quite enjoyable.
