The position is great the view from Bure 8 is excellent, the grounds are well kept, the food unfortunately is not the best, 2 eggs nicely cooked on very dry toast for $10 and instant coffee for $3, ordered a fish curry one night small but tasty - you won’t put on any weight with these servings. Last night at last fresh local fish - two prices of fish about the size of my thumb - a half cup of vegetables and some fries for $30 I thought was a bit sad, arrived one day for lunch and was told the kitchen was closed, no previous notice and nowhere else to eat near by. After a heated discussion, we had fried rice with vegetables - couldn’t finish the dish it was so oily.
I understand that times are hard after COVID, and I really have made allowances, the people are wonderful the site is great the island is spectacular , but I feel the whole island is pricing itself out of the tourist market. For example the walk to the waterfall in May will rise to $50 per person for a 40 min walk in high humidity and extremely steep track.
