Noisy Hotel, but Fabulous Breakfast
Hotel was in need of upgrades. The lobby and hallways were literally falling apart. It looked like the rooms had been updated not too long ago and were in better condition. Although, I had to get my room changed since I was given a room where the window didn't close. The walls were paper thin. I could clearly hear the conversation of the couple in the room next to me. The parking lot outside my room seemed to be a popular place for people to hang out until midnight or later. It was like a party in the parking lot every night. The staff was nice and helpful and check in was easy. I used the laundry facilities and was grateful for them. The restaurant had the best breakfast I've had in a long time. I stayed 3 nights and no one came to clean my room - this is actually a plus. I don't like it when the bed gets re-made and the room cleaned while I'm out. I don't need new towels after just a day or two. It always seems excessive to me.

2/10 Poor

Poor Dilapidated Rooms
The first room offered was dirty and smelt of urine. Second room was better but needs updating. People loitering in the lobby by the check in desk asked for cigarettes and change. The hotel was giving them accommodation and dinner vouchers. Our room had seen better days. It needed an update and deep clean. The bed covers were dirty. See photo. I personally would not stay again. On a positive note. The breakfast was very good.

4/10 Fair

I stayed on two separate nights that bookended a trip further north. The first night I stayed in a Queen room on the ground floor that had been clearly refurbished. It was clean and quite modern relative to the basic surroundings of the lobby and corridors. On the strength of that I book a second night for my return to Whitehorse. I only had the option of a double on the second floor. It was extremely old, bathroom fan that droned through the night, a single lamp that worked. Bathroom showed its age was not particularly clean and had a constant noxious drain smell. Mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Despite my impending afternoon flight I checked out at 7:30 am, without showering. In the refurbished room, there was a slip with a pen asking 'what can we do better?'. Notably this was missing from the room where they could have done way better. I actually wondered if the ground floor was run by a different than the upper. Sketchy policy on taking your credit card for 'incidentals' when there was no mini-bar or room service - it was 'in case of damage' I was told. This was only applied to the second stay - leading me again to ask in my head - are the two floors operated by different companies. Whitehorse hotels are expensive so if you do decide to stay, ask for a ground floor refurbished queen - and find out for me if there are two companies running entirely different operations in the building...

2/10 Poor

Thankfully we only had to spend one night! The room we booked smelled so bad we couldn't take it. We asked for a different room, looked at 3 more before we got one we were willing to stay in. The floor was gross, someone else's clothes behind the bed. We booked online, so couldn't get out of it. The only thing they didn't have was chalk outlines-not that night anyways!
