i hate to rate anything but excellent because for the money, this was a great hotel. If you want to spend time at three colosseum and forum, the location is amazing. If the weather is nice and you have to to relax, the rooftop decks are incredible - spacious and lovely. The bed in our room was comfortable. I never met the owner Max, but Maria was sweet and attentive. Here are the negatives: breakfast is substandard - rotting bananas and other fruit, a small assortment of stale baked goods and crackers, and off brand packaged items that looked like ho-hos, twinkies, etc. The first morning I thought breakfast would be a bigger production and waited for Maria, who was an hour late. However all of the items, aside from cheese and hard boiled eggs, which we didn’t want anyway, were readily available, so the other mornings we grabbed a few items in our own and ate more at the corner bar. The shower in our room was minuscule, but functioning. The toilet didn’t accept any paper and stopped up anyway. We couldn’t get the tv in our room to work (nor could Maria). Despite those issues our stay was good and I would consider the place on future visits to Rome.
