The hotel is located on the road overlooking the sea. We were on the 2nd floor and had a very large balcony, which was lovely, so had uninterrupted sea views. It was interesting watching the fishermen.
Our room was spacious with a very comfortable, very large, double bed. The room and bathroom were both clean but, disappointingly, they only cleaned the room after the first night. We would have expected at least for the toilet bin to have been emptied daily.
For such a large room there was not much furniture. We brought in a bench from the balcony to put our cases on. There was no wardrobe, but there were hooks that we used to hang our clothes on. It would have been good to have some coat hangers.
We had problems working out how to get hot water in the shower, but one of the ladies came up to the room to show us and it was fine after that.
We're sure the pool and surrounding area are pleasant under normal circumstances. However, during our stay there was building work in the reception area which is adjacent to the pool area. It was quite dusty and noisy by the pool with workmen drilling etc nearby and walking through with materials. It didn't cause us major problems as we were out most of the day but when we did use the pool it wasn't very relaxing.
Breakfast was basic, but what we expected, with fresh fruit, toast, fruit juice and tea or coffee.
We would consider staying here again if we were returning to Rio Lagartos.
