The bed and breakfast sign was small and hard to spot from the taxi on a damp, dark evening - knowing the building number helped. There are several steps up to the front door and into the entrance hall, with a buzzer and intercom to gain admittance.
My room for the night was on the ground floor and was very spacious, with a beautifully modern tiled shower room and separate toilet and washbasin room, both behind sliding doors. Although these rooms were internal with no windows they were well lit and there was a good mirror for applying make-up, as well as a powerful hairdryer. The radiators had thermostats so I could adjust the room temperature.
The room was tucked away at the back and was very quiet except when anyone went up or down the stairs from the hall. That caused a clatter, perhaps because of the hard tiled floors.
