I loved my two nights here. This is not a corporate hotel: it's quirky and interesting. Meticulously clean, but a little battered, kind of like all of us. Easy walk to the aquarium, right next door to the ramp to the USS Lexington, right next door to Pier 99 (yes, I went for lunch and then again for dinner, amazing food and so pleasant outdoor seating). Loved my room. Bed was comfy; shower had insane water pressure and wonderful hot water; floors were hard wood (or something), not skanky carpet. Fabulously interesting view of the beach and Bay, with the Lexington RIGHT THERE. The owner/manager was very responsive, but be aware that there's no front desk, you'll need to text with her to coordinate check in. Also no good coffee in walking distance (short of paying the aquarium entrance fee to get to the cafe there, which I considered), so make sure you're prepared.
