This charming, quaint B&B provides the right touch of personal care and privacy. We spent a couple of nights in the Princess Grace room and we just started to relax from the moment we arrived. The bathroom included a deep soaker tub and a large shower with a rainfall shower head. It is difficult to describe the beautiful room but the king size four poster bed was dwarfed by the size of the room. Multiple windows and a beautiful bay window looked out on the expansive lawns and floral gardens surrounding the building. At night, the lights on the gazebo patios, a lighted iron carriage etc added to the ambiance.
The nicest surprise was the Oak Door restaurant, which is truly fine dining. Our server, Kevin, was extremely professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. We even met Chef Evan, who not only prepared the nicest Filet my husband claims to have ever eaten, he butchers the meat for the restaurant as well. Many of the vegetables and all of the herbs are grown on the property for the meals. Breakfasts were also delicious and unique and we never waited for food or drinks at any of our meals. The service was impeccable.
I do not usually write such glowing reviews, but Grey Gables deserve it. I did not expect to find such a nice place in Pembroke, Ontario but it exceeded many of my high end B&B experiences at Niagara-on-the-Lake!
We will definitely be back!
