To begin - we did NOT stay at this motel. We felt that we would not be safe there and ended up sleeping on the floor of someone else's hotel room. We took one look at this room and turned our key back in. The motel is refusing to give us $200 back and Hotels.com is refusing to help. They claim that they try to provide the best places for their customers. If that's true, they should remove this listing form their site. This dump is basically a rundown motel in a bad part of town. It doesn't even technically have a road that leads up to it. You have to turn into a mangled parking lot, drive across it, and pull up to the building past the piles of garbage. The "lobby" or managers office smells like a pet store. There was a birdcage in there but no bird. Hopefully, it had escaped long ago or died. The door to the room faced the street, and we had to shove it opened it get in. The inside looked like a scene from a David Lynch movie. The TV was on but on mute, and the room was very dark with ancient furnishing. Absolutely the creepiest room I've ever seen. The shower had a sliver of used soap in it but nothing more. Just unacceptable at any price. The concierge at the Sherton said that Gordon Highway is an unacceptable part of town she would not be caught dead in. This is experience was so bad I will never return to Augusta, Georgia. Hopefully, my credit card company will help me out.
