My room was very nice, enough space, spotless and felt newly renovated. The overall feel of the hotel is old and in need of updating - maybe they haven’t finished the job yet. This hotel is centrally located. Has a private car park and offers breakfast included. Overall great.

Out of 7 light bulbs in the room only 1 was working. The toilet seat is not fixed to the toilet. The heating radiator needs to be vented (constant water splashing noise).

Good hotel but not in hot days
The hotel was without AC and the temperature was 35 deg during the day. No chance to cool down during the night without opening the window. It was right over the main street with a lot of traffic so the noise was terrible. With the closed window, it was impossible to breath.

We arrived late and picked up our keys for the room from the front desk. There was no hotel staff at that time. We went to the room and found out that the key card reader was missing. So we couldn't get into the room. We called the emergency number and the person at the other end said that he was in Zurich and couldn't help us. He said he doesn't know anything about how to contact the hotel people. We were desperate. By then it was midnight. We finally managed to find a room at Hotel Merkur in Biel. They have staff at the hotel 24 hours a day. It was a very good hotel and the same price as the City Hotel Biel. We have never seen such a terrible hotel as this City Hotel Biel. They do not care about you and they can leave you stranded.

Sehr gute, preiswerte Option im Zentrum nahe Bahnhof. Grosses und gutes Frühstücksbuffet. Die Zimmer sind ein wenig alt aber trotzdem waren wir zufrieden. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im 5. Stock mit toller Terrasse. Wir würden wieder buchen und das Hotel weiterempfehlen
