A cabin with a kitchen in a campground had a lot of promise. But Twin Lakes Campground overpromised and underdelivered. First the kitchen -- a small fridge, microwave, coffee pot without filters, and a toaster. Nothing but plates and silverware provided not even a can opener. Second the bed and bath -- you must bring your own linens -- but that information was nowhere to be found. A hunch from my friend led to a saving phone call. Third the outside -- we asked about a fire pit and were told "just to build one on the ground". There was no fire pit and no picnic table. Fourth the wifi --- you not only pay extra for it but then it did not work during the middle part of the day. Normally I'd be fine without wifi but I had a critical work project to monitor. And then there was checkout -- We checked out on a Sunday likely busiest day of the week for check outs. The instructions said to drop the keys at the office. We got to the office and it was closed. So we left the key on the bed. Several hours later, I found our extra key. To return it I had to go through the gate. I both buzzed and called as the instructions say and no answer. Fortunately a good samaritan pulled up and let me in. I put that key on the bed too. It wouldn't take much for me to give a positive rating -- a drop box for keys when you check out on Sunday, a better stocked kitchen, a fire ring, a picnic table, and very clear instructions on what you need to bring.
