My sister lives at the nearby John Wayne marina and I stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting her. The hotel is old, but the owners keep it cleaned and my room quiet and the bed comfortable. Be sure to bring your own toiletries; the items they provide aren’t very good.

Smelly
Was happy with the staff, however we rented 2 rooms. One was dog friendly (was charged pet fee for a service dog). The room smelled horrible, (which is common with pet rooms but this was extreme) and pieces of the carpet were just cut out with another piece of carpet just sitting in the hole.

It was giving Bates Motel vibes. We arrived and checked in, and were "upgraded" to a two bed room. As a lesbian couple, this was an odd way to "upgrade" us, but ok sometimes is nice to have some extra room after a long travel day. What we noticed immediately; funky smell in the room, as if it hasn't been cleaned or inhabited recently. Bathroom was kind of clean(?). The door had been damaged at some point and wasn't closing easily. There was a pool, but not maintained at all, looked like a death trap. Giant spider in the shower. Shower was dingy and unclean, towels were not clean. Shower fixtures damaged. Outdated spring mattresses and just general damaged dingy furniture. (See photos). We rinsed off the days travel and quickly found a different accomodation. WE DID NOT STAY MORE THAN 1 HOUR.

A nightmare experience
They had pets in the room the nights before and room wasn’t clean from pet smell and….. we’re both sensitive to pets and could not sleep all night. We tried to sleep in the car but was too cold. A nightmare experience on my birthday vacation trip.

The owners of the property were very kind and helpful. The facility has significant construction going near the entrance. We appreciate that dogs are allowed and there is an area for them to be outdoors. The room smelled musty; the screen door did not open; the TV did not work; the wall have three places needing repair; the ceiling needed repair above the tub; and the towels were stained.

This property is right out of the 80's. It looks dirty and old but was clean inside. The blinds were filthy. The tub didn’t work and we were warned not to use it. The pool was filled 1/3 of the way with dirty water. I couldnt sleep the first night because it creeped me out. I was glad to leave. My fault though for going cheap.

The door lock had been busted. There were zip ties holding up the shower head. This room was not worth the price I paid.

Was not a pleasant stay. Dead bolt and chain in first room were broken and inoperable and second room was dirty, worn out carpeting with wrinkles that we kept tripping over, dirty bathroom, over all just yucky.

The staff were very helpful and the place was clean inside. The property is very old and the decor is tired. The beds were firm (which I love) but due to the construction right out front it was noisy in the day. It was also not easy to find because the flag people were right in front of the hotel (hopefully for the hotel this is short lived).

Pretty terrible
Our room was incredibly dated and not very clean. Somebody pruor to us had shaved in there was hair in and around the sink which is kinda gross. The carpet in the room was coming up off the floor causing a raised crease almost the entirety of the room. The towels looked like they were bought when the lodge was built. I think they were supposed to be white but I almost felt more dirty using them to dry off after my shower. The fride sounded like cummins diesel motor trying to start. The beds were pretty terrible as well. We were in sequim for a wedding and the sequim bay lodge was roughly half the cost per night of any other hotels. You get what you pay for and I would not stay there again, or reccomend it to anyone as a good place to stay.

Disappointed
The good part of our stay was the kind and courteous staff, and our AC worked well. The room was clean, and included the microwave and mini fridge-which was helpful. The disappointing list is long though, and I should have taken pictures. The bed was a slight step above sleeping on a box spring. There were small gnat like bugs that came out from behind the bathroom mirror after I took a shower. There were mold/mildew stains still on the bathroom wall paper. The toilet is very old, small, and extremely short. Bathroom shower fixture is from the 1990’s, and has holes corroded through so that I can see into the wall. WiFi was weak and kept kicking us off. The tv was stuck on one channel, so I called the front desk and I was instructed to locate the tv cable box, disconnect the cable input, wait ten seconds, replug the cable back into the box, then power up the tv. We had to do this process several times during our stay (3 nights). Front desk informed us that our sheets would only be changed if we asked for it, or we could do it ourselves. There were no regular size bath towels, apparently all of the regular bath towels had been cleaned then stored elsewhere inaccessible. We ended up using the large hand towels for showers. I really never complain about places we stay since we don’t do it very often, but unfortunately we won’t stay at this location again. Cosmetically there was no wall pictures only a wall mirror, wall paint had many chipped spots. Messy sealant in bathroom.

Very very dated. Was clean enough and at least had a refrigerator and a microwave. But the place is musty. No chairs to sit on the outdoor balcony unless you use the inside chair and office chair, why have a balcony? It was dicey getting in and out of the driveway, this is no fault of the facility, there is construction, but we almost had an accident arriving and exiting because of the blind corner created. We were in the rooms farthest from the road and parking our car nearer the forest felt sketchy, but all parking near the building was taken. No coffee, conveniently not working, or any even continental breakfast, and the outdoor pool is literally a swamp. Paid half as much the night before and at least got a minimal breakfast and toiletries. So, if you have no other cheaper option and this is all that's left in your price range $200/night, and you don't mind staying in what feels like your grandmothers basement bedroom, then this is the place for you. It was a place like those B horror movies start. I am sure in it's day, it was considered a nice choice, but years of cutting costs on upgrading etc. are taking their toll and I feel it is over priced as a low budget lodging

Get you ya pay for but it was dirty
Overall a 2 star review because I knew what I was getting myself into; I expected dated room and cheap stay. The man at the front desk was pleasant and check in and out was smooth and efficient. BUT…. Upon opening the shower curtain it had a dark splatter stain all over it, and the outside of the tub on one side had a smudge of dirt/grime bigger than a square foot in size. Balcony had a huge hole right through the wooden wall that acts as a railing/fall prevention, and light inside the entrance acted like a strobe light. Didn’t care about the light, didn’t have kids so didn’t care about the hole in balcony, but that shower was filthy. Bed was rock hard but I went in without an expectation there
