We stayed in this family run hotel for just 2 days after a week's cruise on a gulet. In the past, we've found that staying in a hotel after a cruise is an anticlimax but Cirali Hera is the exception to the rule.
The atmosphere in the hotel is extremely laid back, beds are comfortable, rooms very clean, good breakfasts, beautiful pool, friendly staff, tea/coffee making facilities in the room (we like that), beautiful gardens and it's definitely worth paying the extra for half board because the evening meals are excellent. It's also within a few minutes walk of the beach and walking distance to the historic site of Olympus. The local beach is one of the breeding grounds of the protected Loggerhead turtles, though you need to get up early to see the hatchlings make their way to the sea - we didn't! Hotel staff even offered to lend us their car to visit Chimera, though we decided to save that for next time. The hotel is close to the local village where there are shops, bars and restaurants and also agencies where you can hire a car, book trips and transfers, etc. Although we don't usually go back to a place we've been before because there's so many new places to see, Cirali and this hotel in particular is also an exception to the rule because we're definitely paying Cirali Hera a repeat visit in 2018, though for a significantly longer visit next time - at least a week next time. Our only dilemma is should we go in the spring or the autumn and how long should we stay?
