Beautiful historic village. Interesting historic house. Misleading description as the Grille & Tap section was not only closed but we faced the demolition, piled about, through the glass door to the Grille, as we entered the Inn. The room was clean, bedding, towels but there was no soap, and no response to the messages to the property owners via Expedia. There was a closet but no hangers, there was no chair. What was very physically excrutiating, was that the heat in the room was up to 84 degrees and the thermostat was ineffective. There was no person on the premisis that we were made aware of, that represented the Inn. Basically there was no service, no changing of bedding or towels etc on a daily basis. I have experienced more service and positive attention from some shady last-chance motels. Shame, since the town, the structure itself has such a place in antiquity. Seems unfair to advertise and charge if the owners were not attending to the guests and property, and upfront about the true condition of the Inn. Lovely town, great historic site so I hope that the current conditions change, but unfortunately I was a classic victim of false advertising and very uncomfortable living conditions. I suggest conditions are verified before you book, but after this dismal experience, Saturday March 22-24, 2025, I cannot recommend Hunters Grille and Tap at The Grafton Inn
