A great choice in this area for a budget property. Room was very clean, staff was friendly. We were entertained in the morning by a troop of Capuchin Monkeys while eating the included breakfast.

Teeny tiny room.
The room was more like a little closet with a double bed and a twin bed. There was a table, no chairs. There was a lot of noise from the road all night, you could here the semi trucks. I would not recommend this hotel. The staff was very pleasant and the breakfast was nice.

This hotel was so surreal! You are staying in a bungalow in the middle of the rainforest! It is magical to wake up and look out the big windows and just see all the green. The staff was all very friendly. Hector also does an amazing job at making sure you are taken care of and helping you make the most of your stay.

Really nice property. The only negative was that the power went out while we were there but it only lasted a couple hours.

Simple but has all you need!
I loved Hotel Catarata Rio Celeste. It’s very simple lodging- nothing fancy, but that’s all we needed. It’s close to the park, across the street from a yummy, cheap typical restaurant, and is on gorgeous grounds with beautiful gardens that you can explore. The included breakfast was delish, and they helped us know what color the river was each day, to know if it was worth going into the park. I will return!

It’s beautiful to stay in a well kept area with animals all around. It’s worth it to stay here, most Costa Ricans haven’t had the pleasure of seeing this almost untouched area. You may run out of things to do unless you do paid tours. Amazing if you visited Costa Rica for the flora and fauna. If taking bus must go to Katira, closest town with bus stops. Doña Irma soda is close and decent food if you want to try places besides the hotel’s restaurant. MUST SEE EL ÁRBOL DE LA PAZ! Happy adventuring!

Liked the cleanliness, the location to Rio Celeste entrance, and the friendliness of the staff. Would have been great if the rooms had a kettle.

An absolutely beautiful, affordable place to stay in the area. Staff speak very limited English (though one person spoke French and Spanish) so plan accordingly. A rare sighting of a tapir occurred. Many, many hummingbirds were easy to spot as well. A very hearty breakfast was included. Recommend!

Cozy Bungalows located not far from the main entrance to Rio Celeste National Park. Clean. Very helpful staff. Wonderful small restaurant on site that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Pool on site. Currently upgrading paving of roads to get there, previously needed 4x4.

We decided to stay here because it is close to Rio Celeste. The rooms have no tv, no fridge, the wifi doesn’t work in the rooms. The shower is outside, which is fine but there was no hot water outside. Only inside with the bath. They have a restaurant there too which we payed 4.000 for easily the worst sandwich I have ever tasted. Very over priced room and food for what we got. Go elsewhere.

Catareta Hotel Rio Celeste
Great experience here. Although rooms 1-5 are small and antiquated. Rooms 6-10 are nice individual cabinas with very nice charm. Staff is awesome

Atmosphere was great. We were excited about the outdoor shower and out door jet tub until we learned there's no hot water so don't let that be your selling point. Beds and bedding were uncomfortable but overall still a really neat place to stay.

Beautiful hotel in the mountains
The reason this is not getting 5 stars is because I don't think the price point matched the conditions of the rooms. We paid $70/night and the room was okay. The rest of the property is beautiful and the staff are great.. just would have preferred a nicer room.
