It is a very large hotel with a mixed bag of guests. The staff is friendly and does a good job of cleaning , but the hotel facilities and rooms are older and it shows. The food is almost all buffet style and only mediocre in quality and selection.

The rooms could've been cleaner, they had some damp smell and grease floors. The general care of the gardens were great but we also noticed the garden near Mangu restaurant were not as clean as the ones in towards the front desk. We were impressed with the restaurant/buffet offers, mind blowing offers of food. The parties were well organised and fun to be part. High 5 for all the employees there, we noticed they worked around the clock and we hope they are treated fairly. Overall we are very happy and already organising to come back next year.

I stayed at the RIU Republica in Punta Cana from February 5, 2025 – February 10, 2025. When my friend and I arrived at the resort we were told that he would have to pay an additional $726.38 for 5 nights despite me selecting two guest beds in the room. I feel as though the resort strong-armed me because we were already there. My original reservation was over $1200, adding an additional $726 on top of this feels as if the Riu Republica was trying to take advantage of us.

I will give this resort a 5/10, there was a lot of things that were broken or missing in the room, no phone, no ice machine, no refills on liquor that’s in the room that’s also included in your inclusive stay, everything you have to do through the app, laundry services was terrible, keycard did not work on the second night.Pool area was dirty, wasn’t consistently cleaned. sauna was dirty, no Jacuzzi just a pool.cheap alcohol, Food was ok, I can tell some dishes they reheated it from the previous day or lunch.Resort itself was beautiful, service was good but I would not stay here again, it just looks like a cleaner version of a motel.
