The Kléber is a two star hotel, so there are no frills. There is no fridge or kettle (which is normal in a 2 Star.) We chose it because we had reason to be in Montreuil. Our room was very plain, small, and clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good. It was well heated. I’d booked a room with one double and one single bed, but we were given the keys to a room with a double bed only, which took some firm ‘renegotiating’; we got a room with three single beds, which was satisfactory.
I really like Montrieul, I find it ethnically diverse, vibrant and colourful. It’s a reasonably poor area, so don’t expect the Marais. But it has good transport links to central Paris, and a community atmosphere.
