The building was well-placed in Les Lilas. The metro stations was very close as were buses. There were plenty of places to eat and shop for groceries. However, we had a number of problems with the property itself.
The first room we were assigned was a disaster from the start. The room smelled of sewage due to the fact that the toilet wasn't evacuating properly. We immediately called the office, and they said that someone would come by to fix it. However, nothing had changed after that visit. We couldn't even sleep the second night because the smell was so horrendous. We called the office the next morning to insist that they move us to another room or refund our money and we would find different lodging. At first they said nothing was available, but after insisting, they moved us to another room. There was no problem with the smell in that room. However, there were still issues with the room. The tile on the floor in the kitchen was slightly raised and broken on one corner, and we had to dodge that frequently to avoid broken toes. In addition, tiles in the shower had pushed inwards, and mold was growing there and in other places. Overall, the room was a huge disappointment, despite the reasonable price and location.
We do want to praise one employee though. Sandra, the maintenance manager for the property, was thoroughly professional and very kind. She helped us to move to the second room and was deeply apologetic for the trouble.
