Yacht Club Capo Cervo occupies a historic building a few feet from the water's edge. It has striking views of the Marina Piccola, the Bay of Naples, and Mt. Vesuvius. Our hosts Loredana and Frederico were warm and accommodating.
Our room was modern, clean, and in excellent repair. It featured a comfortable king size bed, a safe, and a well-stocked refrigerator. The bathroom was very trendy with its rain-type shower head.
Marinella was our breakfast hostess. She was very social, and she gave my wife one of her Italian cook books before we left. Marinella took marvelous care of us, providing our beverages of choice and preparing our eggs cooked to order. Her cappuccinos were excellent. She also baked homemade Italian sweets and cornetti. She even provided some gluten free treats for my wife, who has a gluten sensitivity. The rest of the breakfast included fresh cheeses, prosciutto, ham, melon, hard boiled eggs, and fresh fruit cups, plus the usual cereal and toast. The kitchen was open for complimentary snacks 24 hours. The housekeeper Valentina kept our room spotless.
The location was both a blessing and a curse. It was an oasis where we could get away from the tourists and relax in the peaceful ambience. On the other hand, it was rather inconvenient. The marina is at the base of a tall bluff. Most of the restaurants and shops are on top of the bluff. There is limited access to the harbor after the elevator and pedestrian walkway close. It didn't matter to us.
