Very helpful check-in reception that allowed for storage of our luggage when we arrived early off the bus from Perth which we were very thankful for.
We like to spread around the money we spend, especially in regional towns so we had meals at the Port hotel, the Carnarvon hotel and a booking at the Hot Rock at the Carnarvon motel. The Port hotel has its own history in formerly belonging to the now retired federal Liberal MP. (Ironbar) Wilson Tuckey. More information on this at the nearby Carnarvon Space Museum.
Unfortunately, by the time we arrived at the Hot Rock for our evening meal just after 7PM, all the main courses had sold out leaving us with only the salad bar option. Though the restaurant is family friendly and it being school holidays with lots of kids running around, just being kids, we decided this ambience was not to our liking and we gave the Hot Rock a miss and we went back to the Port for a quiet evening meal.
Would definitely stay again, bearing in mind it was extremely busy at this motel and the wait staff at the restaurant were clearly run off their feet.
