This is a low-key, sandal-free kind of place, beautifully located with its own stretch of beach, but little else in the way of on-site amenities. The main town, General Luna, is a short tuk-tuk ride away.
The staff are polite and friendly, but because the hotel lacks a front desk and in-room telephones, it’s difficult to get their attention when you need them. As such, ordering food - there’s a limited menu of mostly fried food - is a chore and service is slow. Forget about eating outside their prescribed service hours.
Despite these downsides, the location is amazing, the villas are spacious and spotless, and there’s ample opportunity to truly disconnect. The famous three-island hopping tour takes place just off the coast, and apparently the Sugbao lagoon is nearby too (although it was closed during our visit).
