Not sure I can trust
We had to walk through narrow winding steps to the room. If you have a large suitcase, you may have hard time. I expected a local Japanese family to welcome us because I was going to aske some advice and suggestions but it was a Chinese famly. So I did not ask them. Another thing we were not happy about was this Chinese lady asked my husband passport. She made a copy of it. Not only that I had to write my information on the paper and signed it. We made a reservation through hotels.com so we should not be asked to do so. I'm still not happy about this. Next hotel we stayed never asked to show his passport nor my signature. They just handed us the keys. So they made me wonder why and what they are trying to do with our information. I'm not goint to stay there again for sure. Certainly I did not feel comfortable to give too much personal informtion.

10/10 Exceptional

Amazing welcome from the hosts
The building has a lot of character with panoramic views over the fields and mountains from the dining area. We also had a waterfall in front of our bedroom which was very relaxing
The hosts were very flexible in adding us in for dinner as it’s a little too far from the centre to walk to restaurants etc - and the food was excellent !
We would recommend staying here without hesitation - they organised taxis, dinner, breakfast and have us a book of discount vouchers for the attractions.
Only niggle for us was how cold the room was but they provided a very efficient little heater that worked well, but as we have a toddler it was always a worry she would get too close to it - but this seems relatively standard for Japan throughout our travels (no heating) so cant really blame the hotel.
