The hotel is on a few floors of an old building. It is very basic and breakfast was a pastry and some not very good coffee and/or fruit juice in plastic cups from machines (we ate the first day then went out after that). The TV is small and only in Italian and there are no tea or coffee making facilities, but it was kept quite clean and the cleaners came in every day. We had to move rooms due to a mix up so saw two. The first overlooked an internal courtyard (bit grubby but quiet), the second was onto the street, so better view, but noisier.
The area isn't very salubrious, but is very close to the Termini so good for connections to the airport, Metro and buses. Its about a 20m to 30 minute walk to the coliseum.
There were a few bars, cafes and restaurants in the area and in the Termini there are also shops and a small supermarket.
Overall, it was fine, although it is very "budget". At under £40 per night, it was all we needed.
