Overall, our stay was good and the location of Santa Bica is fab! However, there were a few (albeit relatively small) things that I felt let the hotel down a little and that I wish I'd known in advance...
- Although in a very busy district, there was very little noise from outside. However, the acoustics within the hotel made it quite a noisy place to be - the beeping of alarms, people using bathrooms and so on all sounded like it was happening right in our own room, which wasn't great for a light sleeper like myself!
- The rooms are lovely, but very basically accessorised (for example, there wasn't even any glasses for us to get a drink of water out of the tap or anything!) and as the hotel isn't always staffed around the clock, you can't always find someone to ask for things
- The lighting in the hotel corridor and communal areas is VERY dim. All very nice and ambient but not great for little children or clumsy people like myself who trip over steps when they aren't easy to see!
All in all though, if you're looking for somewhere central to stay at a good price and you don't mind the above, it's a fab hotel!
