"If you want a luxurious place to stay in Hanoi, The Sofitel Metropole Hotel should be at the top of your list. Built in 1901, it retains echoes of the French colonial era. The service was excellent throughout; from the reception to the breakfast area, and our favourite, the pool bar!
Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious, with a smart TV that allowed us to connect to various services such as Netflix and You Tube. One minor point to note for visitors from the UK - the power point accept UK plugs without an adaptor, which is very handy indeed!
This was our second visit to Hanoi. We stayed here for 7 days this trip and we were very sad to leave! Thank you to the all the staff at the Metropole; thank you Hanoi and thank you Vietnam. We will definitely be returning."
"Amazing service, amazing room, amazing people.
Stayed there for my husband’s 50th and they went above and beyond.
Organised a cake, sang happy birthday, free welcome drink and mini bar then upgraded us to a bigger and better room at no cost.
Can’t wait to stay again"
"We loved our stay here. Very walkable and convenient location. Great rooftop bar and breakfast which is included. Most of all the staff were amazing! Very helpful and went out of their way to provide the best experience. We left to the airport at 11 pm after checking out in the morning, and they kindly offered us a shower and chance to freshen up after a long day of sightseeing. Highly recommend this hotel!"
"Highly recommend if you’re looking for a luxury hotel in the Old Quarter area. In preparation of my stay, a hotel staff reached out with food recommendations in the area. You can also ask them any questions you might have. The breakfast is amazing with a variety of options, from Western (pastries, pancakes/waffles, eggs, sausage/bacon) to Vietnamese food (pho and bahn mi) from 6:30-10am. If you have full day excursions planned that start early in the morning, you can still dine in for breakfast. Even if you opt out of room cleaning, they’ll check in to see if you need any items replenished. If you have time, book a full body massage at their in-house spa. Better than any spa you’ll find in the area! "
"We stayed at Solaria for our anniversary and the staff made the experience unforgettable. They decorated our bed with petals and towel swans, which was such a sweet touch. The service was above and beyond—when the airline lost my luggage and another traveler’s bag was dropped off by mistake, the staff stayed with me that night making calls until my bag was returned (which was huge since we had a cruise the next morning!). Throughout the trip they helped with transfers, worked with our cruise company, and even sent us off with gifts like coffee. Special thanks to Cheese and Lily, though everyone was wonderful. Truly some of the best service I’ve ever experienced!"
