A peaceful place off the beaten path
A mile or two up a fairly bumpy and broken road off the main thoroughfare to Atlixco you will arrive at Rio Tinto, an oasis behind pristine white walls and gated entrance. The hotel opened just about a month ago, and everything is in immaculate condition. There are only 17 rooms built around a garden courtyard through which flows a lovely man-made stream with gurgling fountains. We stayed in one of the junior suites and enjoyed the clean modern decore, comfy bedding, and super spacious shower with large rainfall shower head. The staff was gracious and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Soon to come is a full-service spa (still under construction during our stay). Until then, you may request spa treatments in your room. Only draw back was the lack of in-room WiFi, but you can get a decent connection in the reception and restaurant area. Definitely recommend for a romantic getaway.

Superb Hospitality
Rio Tinto offered my family 5 star hospitality. We reserved 3 rooms only for one night. United airlines lost our luggage and we needed to return to RT to retrieve it. Even though we check out more than 8 hours before they answered multiple calls from us and allowed us to return with 3 kids and let them play as we waited for luggage. All of the service from check in to check out was excellent.

Llegamos de una boda aprox 11:30 pm No hay gente en recepcion, nos abrio un velador a esa hora no se puede hacer check inn no hay quien atienda .Lo peor dia siguiente por la mañana ya estando en la tegadera nos percatamos no hay jabon para bañarte, nuevamente 8am nadie que atienda Increible que conntarifa tan alta no puedan poner un jabon para bañarte

Muy Mal - alimentos me hicieron daño, Para llegar al hotel pase 15 minutos terribles el camino es de tierra lleno de hoyos y obscuridad total. El segundo día el servicio de camarista era muy tarde cuando pretendían realizarlo y no lo permití yo ya estaba descansando. El desayuno incluido lo limitaron a chilaquiles, o huevos estrellados con jamón o tocino al final me ofrecieron chorizo los pedí y me hicieron daño. El servicio de Hotel Boutique deja mucho que desear. Al final de la estancia pedí mi factura y me dijeron que tendría un cargo adicional por que así era la política del Hotel, trajeron al contador y no me supo explicar el porque. Me echaron a perder mis días de descanso, no voy a volver a hacer una reservacion por Hoteles.com
