We stayed at Tollgate hotel on 12th October in room 208 after seeing the reviews and booking through expedia.
It is one of the worst hotels and I stayed in and definitely not worth the £60+ I paid.
Issues that we faced:
It is suppose to be free wifi but we did not receive a code so could not use it. We were told on departure which was not acceptable
Once the toilet flushed, it took over 20 minutes to refill to flush again - we were told on departure it is due to pumping your own water but this should be stated before booking. (I suffer with bowel problems but couldnt go as couldnt flush)
The curtains didnt meet properly which means that not as much privacy - this is due to damaged rings not being taken off
Some of the light bulbs didnt work and 1 didnt switch off overnight
The bed was 2 singles pushed together which one was higher than the other and the pillows were as flat as a pancake
We paid for breakfast but wasnt explained how it worked and what we got for our money
When eating breakfast, noone came to check on us if the breakfast was ok and didnt clear our plates as they were more interested in talking and laughing in the kithcen.
When I spoke to the duty manager, she did not seem shocked by some of the comments
