A decent place to stay! The room was fine, if a little cold, but the additional heater warmed it up well. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and I had a lovely pint in the bar. Coniston is well worth a visit and The Sun is definitely worth staying at.

Lovely little hotel that serves great food and has the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Had a good sized, comfortable room with a lovely view. We’re very dog friendly, even cooking an extra breakfast sausage for her! Would highly recommend, we had a wonderful stay.

Charming hotel, with a lot of history, with its links to Donald Campbell and Bluebird. Room was cosy and comfy, and staff were so lovely. Really amazing location, with geat views and a fantastic beer terrace. Food was excellent. Could not fault it. Will definitely be staying again.

Great stay. Good location to walk the Old Man of Coniston and visit the Ruskin Museum and village. Parking on site. Lots of choice for breakfast options. Breakfast is available for a short window. Excellent choice of ales on the bar and friendly staff. Would stay again.

My wife and I were due to be staying at The Sun for a second time having thoroughly enjoyed our previous visit. Unfortunately, I fractured my ankle the week before our latest trip and the management team at The Sun were extremely understanding and accomodating a booking move at short notice, something they weren't required to do via Hotels.co.uk. Fabulous, cosy Hotel. Clean, comfortable and dog friendly. The staff here are so friendly, helpful and genuinely can't do enough for you. Had the best nights sleep-the bed was so very comfortable. The breakfast and the food in the bar is delicious, plentyful, well presented and a great choice of menu. Our only criticism is there are no outdoor bins to dispose of used doggy bags. We will definately be going back though.

Very Friendly Staff & Good Food.
Very welcoming staff, friendly, polite, helpful, couldn’t be nicer & the food was great! Bar, was well stocked, comfortable with the outside areas looking very welcoming, great for a summer stay. The room was nicely decorated, but a small double means a small double, the bed felt tiny. If you are booking in get a larger room.
