Disappointing, dirty and to be avoided
This hotel is to be avoided - particularly by Europeans.
The room we stayed in was the only area we could describe as clean, which was a relief as the rest of the property is dirty and in desperate need of cleaning and painting. The smell in some of the areas was dreadful. They are obviously not expecting European guests as they make no allowances for European guests. There is very little Western food at breakfast - while I love Japanese food, I struggle with it at breakfast time - and a request for fried eggs had to be made through an intermediary member of staff before it was understood and possible (and even then I've never seen freshly fried eggs look like they'd been made 6 months ago!). It seems to be an attraction to Japanese bus tours and older visitors for its hot spring onsen which sounds nice but I didn't go there as I was so put off by the smell of sewage in the corridor on the way there.
The whole place is designed to look like a cruise liner at the edge of the lake and the great shame is that it could be so lovely with its views over the water but they have not maintained the place so it actually looks and feels like a poorly maintained car ferry!
hotel is ok. located with the view of the lake.
but there is nothing much to do there.
the hotel looks like an old ship and my room also.
it looks more like an apartment than a hotel.
