We decided to stay here because of the high user rating and overall, it was a good decision. The hotel is located about a 10-15 minute cab ride away from the heart of the city, but it's right next door to the beach and a five-minute walk to a huge shopping/eating/night market area. The room is of good size, but the layout is a bit "unusual" with separate toilet and bathroom and a sink which was essentially in the middle of the room. There were no mirror in the room (nor the hotel for that matter) other than a rather small mirror next to the sink. The hotel creates a "sophisticated ambiance" with its "lack of lighting." While this is very nice visually, there lies potential health hazards in some parts of the hotel. This was especially the case when you exit the very beautiful infinity pool deck back into the darken hall-way, down a few steps (which is hard to see).
The service is a real highlight to this hotel. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the bell-hops (who also serve as the local travel expert and concierge). While the breakfast buffet was good but not exciting, the dinner buffet was excellent (especially if you are a seafood lover.)
There are a lot of hotels in Xiamen, but there is a very high probability that we will return to this hotel again in the futuer
