Pro: Very quiet and calm. Small property that lends to its coziness.
Cons: This is so far away from the city with such limited means of transportation that it should not be called Playa Del Carmen. You cannot walk and take any kind of public transportation. You always have to ask the hotel to call a cab whenever you want to go anywhere, which would cost you a lot. Otherwise, you have to rent your own car which is expensive and not advisable in a foreign country.
There is nothing to do around the property. There are long empty roads with nothing but other mega resorts.
The WiFi doesn't reach the rooms, but only around the pool area. When they advertise the hotel having Wifi, I was misled into thinking that the rooms have wifi too.
Food in the restaurant was pretty meh. Granted, we dont eat meat and the options are very limited, but even then the pizzas we nothing to rave about.
The water in bathrooms are so salty, you can sense it without even tasting them. Salt water is BAD for skin and hair. I repeat, it is EXTREMELY DAMAGING for skin and hair. You cannot expect us to buy 200ml water bottles for 30 peso every time we want to wash face/take bath.
Overall the vibe at the place felt right for someone who is retired to relax without really moving around. There isn't much to do at the property either.
We paid 500 USD for five nights and had to forfeit it and leave after just one day because it felt so horrible, and we didn't want to ruin our entire holiday because of it.
