Highlights of Kunsthal Aarhus

Kunsthal Aarhus exhibits varied and modern contemporary art, which includes paintings, sculptures, photos, installation art, film and video. The core of Kunsthal Aarhus is a research-based, collaborative and cross-discipline approach to artistic experiments, which can certainly be seen by the broad range of exhibitions and projects.

For example, jump on a bike and join a Bike Art Tour up and down the hills of Aarhus, or study the different public works of art of various contemporary artists, which decorate the city landscape. You can also visit First Thursday (Første Torsdag), a monthly ‘art bar’ where artists experiment with performative works. Exhibitions, projects and events change on an ongoing basis, so keep a close eye on the programme on the website.

In 2017, Kunsthal Aarhus opened a new park with seating facilities by the French artists Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, inviting you to experience the different and innovative exhibitions that characterise the hall. You can also take a midday break at Café Kunsthal and enjoy a cup of coffee or a tasty glass of natural wine.

You will find Kunsthal Aarhus in the centre of Aarhus, a stone's throw away from Åboulevarden and Aarhus River.
