Playa del Divorcio, or Divorce Beach, offers a scenic shoreline and rough surf with endless stretches of sand that are great for relaxation and photos. It isn't good for swimming; the surf makes it extremely dangerous. If, however, you want to take a walk along a rugged coast that showcases the power of nature, this is a good place to come. Despite its name—and no one seems to know why it's called "Divorce Beach," it can be a romantic spot for a morning or late afternoon stroll.
It may be named because the surf is opposite of the calm waters of Lovers Beach across the way. It's only about 10 minutes to the south of city centre.
