Plaza del Angel is a popular square in the Muses district of Madrid, Spain, well known for its clubs, bars and nightlife. Its name allegedly came from the sacred Guardian Angel that watches over the square, on the facade of one of its buildings.
On the corner of Plaza de Santa Ana to the east and Benavente to the west, Plaza del Angel is a constantly updating urban space, bringing an edgy, contemporary atmosphere to its historical beginnings. Monuments to famed literary figures line the square as people mingle with each other, making for an area full of ancient as well as fresh connections.
