Hotel Colquewasi is run by Mr. Wilson and his family, who also live on the premises. It is a boutique hotel and while it does not have every amenity offered by large chain hotels, Mr. Wilson will provide everything you could ask for. We asked for extra blankets, room heater, hair dryer, laundry service, etc. - and we were never denied. My child had bit of stomach upset at night and Mr Wilson and his family rushed to help us without even asking, bringing us medicines, teas and infusions and stayed with us until my child was feeling better. We don't speak Spanish and they don't speak English, however, that never never seemed to be an issue. My child made friends with Mr Wilson's children and we connected to his family more as friends than merely as guest/hosts. True testament to Peruvian hospitality, warmth and helpfulness. For facutal purposes - rooms and bathrooms are a bit on the small side, amenities and breakfast basic and no elevators (but Mr Wilson will carry your luggage up and down!). But, for the price it can't be beat in terms of location, comfort and all basic needs. All kinds of tours and taxi bookings can be done with Mr Wilson at better than market price and with his unbiased opinion on what might work best for you.
