Cobblestones, tight streets, colourful walls and traditional architecture is what charmed me about the area - the famous Barrio Alto. My room was on the 3rd floor (4th flights of beautiful wooden stairs - low cardio, bad knees and heavy luggage be aware). My room ( blue denim tones) was airy, bright, modern decor with beautiful wooden beams at the entrance serving as storage. The Bathroom was lovely ( that IKEA mirror….) with very hot water and excellent pressure amd a towel for makeup. Beds were comfy, internet fast. It was perfect for my long layover. The room has an efficient AC which is great as it is very hot during the day in July.I had dinner on the next street outside and partook in people watching from the cute little balcony nook.
If you are a light sleeper and are sensitive to noise it might be difficult for you to enjoy the place. Its also close to restaurants, sightseeing and a busy part of Lisbon.
Richard and the staff were reactive, welcoming and helpful. I had a fantastic time :)
