The service provided by almost all the staff at this hotel was excellent and very accommodating. Front desk even gave us recommendations for places to visit.
However, the same cannot be said for the public areas and housekeeping. (I am NOT referring to the person who cleaned our room—we never even saw them, as we only stayed for two nights and always had the “Do Not Disturb” tag on.) The staff responsible for public areas and housekeeping were rude and showed no intention of helping.
On the day of our check-out, an elderly gentleman treated my husband horribly just because he walked through the lobby after it had been mopped. It’s a lobby! That’s what it’s for. There was no other way for us to get through!
Additionally, due to the extremely low temperatures, you have to leave your car plugged in at the back parking lot to prevent the engine from freezing, and you must start it 30 minutes before driving. One morning, we went down to unplug and start the car, but when we tried to re-enter the hotel, our keys wouldn’t open the back door. The keys are old and constantly get deprogrammed.
Inside the hotel, a group of housekeeping staff with their cleaning carts were standing by the door, seemingly organizing their things. When we waved and showed them our keys, asking them to open the door, they completely ignored us. We had to walk all the way around the hotel in -26°C weather.
