Hidden Gem

Location is very convenient. Never felt un safe even when walking the streets late at night. Some people complained about noise but its literally just sea gulls - kinda soothing and didn’t bother me. Room was clean and the manager Monica was awesome. Would stay there again.

TD&H is a cozy, informal place and corresponded pretty well to my expectations. It's very close to a stop on a regular city bus line that goes to the airport, which was handy, and about a 20 minute walk from the center of town (City Hall, Dublin Castle, etc.). One thing I wasn't totally prepared for was the long, fairly steep staircase that has to be negotiated to get to the rooms and that is a distinct challenge with a suitcase! Fortunately, the receptionist gave me a hand on the way up -- thanks for that -- and I managed ok on the way down. :-)

Kindness of the staff really went a long way here. The gal that checked us in was funny, kind and such a pleasure to deal with. The building is very old but the rooms are clean and it was fairly quiet considering it was so close to the college. Also, it was walking distance to Grafton Street and all the cute shops.
