This is our second stay at Toyoko Inn Iwakuni. We stayed in August 2024 for 11 nights. The room was clean and well-kept, the service in the room was excellent, and the breakfasts are also excellent.
The staff helped us with several issues during out stay and were unfailingly kind of helpful.

Family vacation in Iwakuni
The Toyoko Inn is a great place to stay. My family and I had an amazing breakfast every day. It was conveniently close to the airport, train and bus stations. We will stay here again and again.

The hotel overall wasn’t bad but the beds were pretty hard. For the area however it’s a good hotel.

The breakfast area was quite crowded with a lot of business staff and professional workers. We decided to return when the crowd had thinned. Unfortunately, there was not much left to choose from when we came back.

The property is clean and spacious enough for the two of us. It is walking distance from the train and bus station. There are restaurants, cafes, bakery and convenience stores nearby. I didn’t realise we booked a smoking room. The room had not been aired out when we checked in so we had the window opened while we were out and the room smelled much better after 24 hours.

There is a machine to check in, the staff is not going to check you in. The rooms are small, but come with a nice down comforter. It would be 4.5 stars, but I gave it 2 because the receptionist Yoshino was the most rude and nasty person you can imagine. She was rude to me from the second I got there, until I left. Luckily there was another staff Fujikawa working and she was helpful and kind. Yoshino should not be working in customer service.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station and restaurants. The breakfast is not your typical continental breakfast you get at a US hotel, but very healthy options. the rooms are smaller than the hotels in the US, but they were designed very efficiently. No closet space for organizing your clothes, but you can use the space under the bed. The rooms are very clean and they do a very good job with the facility. The laundry machines are coin operated and 1 wash costs around 500 yens (around $3). There are several good restaurants in 3-5 walking distance.
