The hotel had a foul smell when I walked in.
I approached the desk & said I was checking in. The staff very unfriendly & not really caring.
They stated that the hotel had a water leak and had no hot water at the time, so I could either check in or I could cancel without penalties. But they wouldn’t do anything since it was a 3rd party booking if I decided to cancel.
Supposedly someone called me earlier in the day but no one left me a message about it. I called to let the hotel I was not going arrive until really late. No mention about the situation when I called either.
I could have made new reservations while I was traveling if someone had said something to me while I was on the phone.
It took about 40 minutes to get my room canceled through Hotels.com and have someone go through the process of canceling my reservation. The person on the other end from hotels.com could not help me get another reservation, that seemed to be beyond their comprehension.
Thankfully, the only good thing about me walking into that Comfort Inn was that they refunded my stay without penalty.
I had asked if I could use the bathroom, I was told to use the ladies bathroom and not the men’s because the water was not working in there either. The ladies bathroom had 3 lights, 1 burned out, 1 on, 1 flickering like some horror movie.
Thankfully there was a Homewood Suites a block away that had availability.
