The description of this apartment is extremely misleading, and the single ten-star review is clearly fake. The apartment is so unlivable, that we had to flee it without compensation or refund from the owners.
The apartment is in an industrial-style building right under the railroad tracks, meaning that the bedroom is shaking every 30 seconds from passing trains. The area is an industrial wasteland, with empty buildings with smashed windows and major construction going on nearby leading to heavy traffic at early hours. The interior is clearly unfit for human habitation, with parts falling off the wall, big gaps between window and wall, and a general unsanitary condition of the whole place. There was also dirty items left everywhere, and stains on the carpets and all flat surfaces.
We soldiered on for the first night, but the second day we found that the toilet was leaking dirty water onto the bathroom floor and into the bedroom! We alerted the management and said we wanted to move it. They refused to give us any refund but said they would fix the toilet and re-clean the apartment. They did not. As we came back, the toilet was still blocked and flooding over the floor, and the only way to stop it coming into the bedroom was to build a barrier of towels.
That's when we gave up and alerted Hotels.com. They talked to the owners who still refused to give any refunds, but fortunately Hotels.com graciously helped us find a new hotel and we could leave this disaster area.
