1st of all, as soon as we arrived at the door it downed on us that this was not a Hotel but rather a place that rented rooms. As you come through the front door there are 3 big litter bins on either side of the entrance. The reception was on the first floor of the building. We believe that people resided in the building.
We had booked a twin bed but were given a double and when we told the receptionist that we booked a twin bed, we were informed they did nor have twin bedrooms, only standard double. The bathroom although inside the bedroom, was as on a mezzanine where we had to climb 8 steep steps to reach it. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. We were there for 4 days only fortunately, and the room was as only cleaned up and tidied up on the 2nd day The breakfast was not on site. We were taken to a café on a side street and breakfast consisted of a coffee and a croissant or a brioche. We had to sit outside and it as not warm. We had booked place based on the good reviews 90% saying how excellent the place was. Looking outside the front of the building, it appears that there was a fire in 2 rooms above ours at some point in the near past as burning marks on the windows and walls are still visible. Having said all this, the location is very central with good transport links. Also Mario the receptionist although in another part of the building was always reachable via WhatsApp and was always polite and helpful.
