As the property was called "Mallard Cottage" and there were pictures of a lake I had visions of a little cottage by a lake. What transpired was a room in a house on a busy road opposite a lake. The room had nothing but a bed and chests of drawers for furniture. There was a kettle but no tv. The bathroom was down the hall and was shared with, it seems, four other rooms! I was shown a fridge in the kitchen where there was milk for tea making purposes. It was not made clear whether I could use the kitchen for other purposes. The stairs to my, and other, rooms were very steep, narrow, and winding and I would doubt it would pass health and safety regulations. None of the bedroom doors were fire proof and there was no other fire exit from the room. Our double bed was against one wall meaning that we, in our seventies, had to clamber over each other to get up in the night. There is a pub next door that has live music events. It was very loud and did not finish until 11pm. The road is between two roundabouts and was very busy and noisy most of the night.
