Disappointing
Horrendous check in experience. I spent 2 hours in reception trying to sort out payment. I had paid upfront via hotels.com 6 weeks previously but the hotel had no record of payment and put me under a lot of pressure to pay again saying they would refund once it was sorted with hotels.com.
The evening meal was expensive for what was actually a pay at the bar non waiter service.
We paid for breakfast when we eventually checked in but the next day they had no record of our booking and no one was there to take our order as they thought they’d finished service even though there was another half hour left. Eventually we found someone.
The hotel has recently changed hands and is obviously in need of a refresh as it’s a bit tired. The blurb mentions beautifully landscaped grounds but the view out of our room was not that.
It spoilt what was meant to be a relaxing spa break with my daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday
