underwelmed
nothing was the same as the site showed,still had the super 8 sign. no maid service daily,no amenities at all. only worth half of what was paid. if this is what to expect from this site, may never use again

Needs new management
Room was dirty. One bed had no sheet. Shower curtain very moldy. Towels were stained and there were not enough for 2 of us. When asking for more, I was told they were being washed. Floor had not been vacuumed. Room mirror was so coated with grease and dirt,it could not be used. TV usage was a joke. Ice machines, pop machines inoperative. You get ice at the front desk but only a couple handfuls at a time.

not worth it
Although hotel staff (students) were good and helpful, this hotel has no cleaning, dirty beds, no coffee machines, filthy carpets, smells, unclean bathrooms - just not worth it. Although I paid decent amount on room charges, there are probably better hotels around for that amount but was close to highway.

Sketchy Stay
I was truly disappointed in this stay at Super 8. Pulled up around 10p.. the hotel sets back off the road and there were no lights on. Had called a week before my stay about switching from a single bed to a double bed, was told that wouldn't be an issue. When we got there, was told we could for an additional fee (not disclosed when I called). The room was a mess, heavy cologne smell as you walked into the room, cigarette holes in the sheets and bed (even though a non-smoking room), mildew on the shower curtain, mirror off the wall sitting on the floor...

terrible
Seeing how it was next to impossible to get a room on valentine's day and we didn't want to sleep in the car we resorted here, which long story short we ended up sleeping in the car. There were hairs and fresh stains on the sheets. The radio was blairing before we walked in the room and it smelled. We were there maybe twenty minutes and we checked out. No refund and the foreigner working the desk barely spoke english and charged my card three times. Needless to say, don't stay here.

Smelly, didn't look clean. Had to call the hotel from my cell phone to get help checking in because no one was tending desk. Would not eat continental breakfast because I was scared to. Moldy shower curtain, no cleaning during our stay other than making beds.

Super 8-7
Housekeeping did not make the bed, change the sheets or empty trash during three day stay. Mattress nearly sagged to the floor. Sheets were for a twin bed on a king bed. Had to Febreeze the non-smoking room to get the smell of cigarette smoke out. The room entry card was always out of date and I had to return to the office every time I went to enter the room.

Convenient location, misfortune
the room was comfortable except for the discovery of water leaking from the bathroom above. I can't pin this on the hotel, except to say they didn't discover it in time. Apparently the guest two floors above left the bathtub water trickling with the drain plug in. Not very nice of them. The water spilled out and seeped to the rooms below. the manager was very apologetic.

Super 8 - some rooms good, others not so good
We led a group of people on a trip to Lansing and all the hotels in the area were booked except for a few (Super 8 was one of those). We had 4 rooms, all with two double beds. 3 of the rooms were acceptable. In the 4th room, one of the beds had black marks on it from what we believe to be bed bugs. We asked for new sheets and we received sheets that had multiple mysterious stains on them. It was a long night. The man at the front desk in the morning was very nice and there was juice and muffins.

Besides the problems at check in , the hallways were dark and dirty. Broken window in the stairwell. Room was clean and ok Lighting was poor. Need stronger bulbs. Towels were below average. .

Very Gross
I have a low standard for hotels. I'm not shy about staying at a Motel 6 or other cheap motel chain. However, this place was by far the grossest hotel I have ever slept in. The comforters had blood stains on them and the mattress had exposed springs. The lobby had stickers on the doors advertising "hotel excellence" for years 1995-1998. I think that was the last time Super 8 corporate inspected this place. Stay away!

stay if you dare
my experience was unpleasent to say the least. upon arrival i was told o could have a key, but that my room was not ready and i had arrived after check-in. once i was able to get into a room it is not what i expected, very small rooms very crowded for four people, the color on the tv was way off, there was no alarm clock in the room as stsed in the ammenities, the coffee pot that was supposed to be the room was in fact in the lobby. the shower did not work very well at all. good luck if you choose this place.

skip this hotel
This is definitely not the Super 8 I will be staying at the next time I'm in Lansing. The location is good since its right off the freeway and has tons of restaurants with in a walking distance. The downside is definitely the cleanliness. I'd give it a 2/5. The lobby is small with dim lighting and a few tables which also serves as the breakfast area in the am. The rooms are average sized with a bed with a mini desk and chairs. The rooms DO lack cleanliness. I walked 20 ft on the carpet barefoot and the soles of my feet turned black. That is definitely not a good sign. The bathroom has dim lights and the tub just has a soap scum look and feel unwashed. I would not recommend this place. pro: free wi-fi + location cons: lack of cleanliness

Avoid at all costs!
The worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. Hotel attendants were unaccommodating and rude to the point where I felt unsafe. When asked for names or business cards, they would not give any information and when asked how to get ahold of their manager they said "he'll be in Saturday" and would not give us a name. Staff was unorganized, although we arrived at check-in (3pm), we had to wait 45 minutes to finally get a room. Microwave, ice machine, vending machine were all empty or out of order. Back exit does not lock at night. Cable did not work.

Worse than the Overlook.
You will not be able to sleep here. Your room will be dirty -and noisy. Not just the traffic noise generated by the freeway located only a few yards from your room, but the racket coming from the rooms surrounding you: this hotel is obviously a party rendevous.

Worse than my low expectations
Grimy place, sticky bathroom floors. Water came pouring through the bathroom ceiling fan at 7:00 am. After being told plumber was coming (room is meanwhile flooding) I finally got moved to another equally grungy room. I stay in a lot of the budget hotels and this was the worst I've encountered!

I stay in a lot of hotels. And this hotel ranks as one of the dirtiest. I wish i had cleaner for the bathroom to even step foot in there. The shower made me feel dirtier than before i bathed.

Great rooms for the price
I really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The price was also very nice. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was trying to get to it fron the freeway,the road signs were not clear but that seemed to be the case all over Michigan.

Super Dump
The floors were dirty, the bathroom was dirty, the bed was dirty, the continental breakfast (hardly anything) was worthless. We spent the same money the next night and had a completely different experience (clean room, comfy bed, decent breakfast). This room was barely worth $5, let along $50

Unfortunate
Tolerable is as good a rating as we can given this motel. Thankfully, our room was free of smoke, but the odor was heavy on entering the facility and walking the halls. When we got to our continental breakfast, there were two muffins, well-aged, together with cereal. The Orbitz confirmation sheet listed coffee maker and clock radio, neither of which was available. Since we were there only one night, our needs were minimal, but we won't patronize this place again.
